Welcome to 2016! As many are renewing their health club memberships as part of their New Year’s resolutions to flex their muscles more, we at TECAT have a little different “flex” going on. Specifically automatic transmission flex plates!
Our technical team has worked really hard this past year refining our flex plate offering int
o a finely tuned product offering. We take customer production or prototype flex plates, and turn them into a “smart part” to sense real time torque while a vehicle is travelling down the road. This is a particularly challenging task given the limited space available, extreme operating environment, and widely varying geometry of the customer flex plates. That said, TECAT’s team is up to the task!
The data from these “real” production flex plates provides unparalleled “real world” feedback for engine calibration, transmission or shift harshness calibration, and powertrain system integration. Unfortunately this does nothing to help flex those muscles and achieve my New Year’s resolution, so I’ll have to keep hitting the gym.
