CDS Torque 125 System – SAE Collegiate Design Series Special Edition

For many years, engineers looking for real-time torque measurement systems could only source solutions that were large and cumbersome to apply. They were portable in name but not in practice. TECAT’s wireless sensor technology changes that.

TECAT has created the special limited edition CDS Torque 125 System wireless torque sensor especially for the SAE Collegiate Design Formula and Baja Series. The CDS Torque 125 System provides torque data directly from the moving part – operating in real-world conditions without the need for a dynamometer.

The CDS Torque 125 System sensor uses strain gage outputs to measure the torque range typically seen on the half shafts and drive shafts used in Formula and Baja SAE competition vehicles. The output is wirelessly transmitted using a 2.45 GHz radio frequency paired to a base unit.

Setup of the CDS Torque 125 System sensor is easy:
1 Install strain gage (team must supply strain gage – see CDS Torque 125 System User Manual for gage recommendations)
2 Install CDS Torque 125 System remote unit on shaft and connect to strain gage
3 Connect CDS Torque 125 System base unit to power and your data acquisition system or voltmeter
4 Calibrate CDS Torque 125 System and begin taking data

This uniquely designed product is ONLY licensed for use on SAE Collegiate Design Formula and Baja Series competition vehicles. Use for other academic or commercial purposes is prohibited.

Note that TECAT provides sponsorships to SAE teams only in the form of this limited edition product.

Special Edition Price: $1,500 for one unit; $2,500 for two units on single order
